Never Enough

I will not be posting Enough is Enough as it is part of the last chapter of this fic. What happened after Enough?

Chapter 21

I don’t own Chuck

She sat up in bed, her eyes wide. “Holy shit, Orion had a handler,” she muttered.

“Who’s handle is where?” Chuck asked, half-asleep.

“Nothing, baby,” Sarah said, shaking her head, looking down at him. He smiled at her, eyes still closed, and a second later she watched his chest move rhythmically, asleep. Why did Chuck’s father have a CIA handler? That was the only thing that made sense from what Chuck had told her about the flash. She started to lay back down, thinking how lucky she was she never became Chuck’s…. “HOLY SHIT!” she yelled, sitting back up. Chuck looked up at her, his eyes wide open.

“Sarah?”

“Chuck, why did your dad have a CIA handler?” Sarah asked.

“Uh, I’m not sure,” Chuck said. Sarah stared at him. “Okay, he might have made the thing in my head,” Chuck admitted, wincing. “I’ve been kinda putting parts of this together.” Sarah nodded. “Sarah, what do you think is going on?”

“Your mom disappeared, right?” Chuck nodded. “Your dad had a CIA handler, right?” Chuck nodded again. She gave him a minute, and she saw it as it dawned on him.

“My mom was Agent Frost.” He looked at Sarah. “A CIA agent.”

The next morning, Chuck and Sarah filled Casey in on everything. “Is there enough in those files that I can help you two figure some of this out?” Casey asked.

“No,” Sarah said, shaking her head. “From what we can gather, he’s getting a piece of information here, a piece there, and the Intersect is connecting the dots.”

“I don’t want you looking at files for a week,” Casey told Chuck. Chuck started to protest but both Sarah and Casey glared at him. “I get it Bartowski, you want to do your part, but if you…well, if that Intersect goes haywire…”

“We have no idea how to fix it,” Sarah told him.

“We do,” Chuck said softly. “We need to find my mom and Dad, and get Zondra off of your back.”

“Negative,” Casey said. “She has no idea where we are at, and if we raise our head, she could shoot it back down.”

“Casey, we can’t run forever,” Chuck protested.

“We don’t have to, we take Graham down and the order is rescinded,” Casey told Chuck.

Chuck looked from one to the other, nodded and sighed. “You two know best,” Chuck said, nodding. “It’s been a long few days, I’m going back and lying down.”

“Okay,” Sarah told him, squeezing his hand. “I’m going to show Casey what all we have found.” Chuck nodded and headed toward their room as Sarah led Casey to the front.

}o{In their room, Chuck pulled up his laptop, and connected to the site where his father would sometimes leave him a message. “I need to speak to Orion,” he typed. He went to close the laptop, when a message replied. “One or Eleven.”

“Aces, Charles,” Chuck replied. He paused for a moment. “I need your help dad.” For a moment there was nothing, Chuck went to close his laptop when an address popped up. It wasn’t that far away, surprising Chuck. He closed his laptop, grabbed his bag, and prayed Sarah wouldn’t murder him, or worse, break up with him with what he was about to do.

They both heard the engine start and then the groan of the wall moving. “I guess he let that go a little too easily,” Casey said. They were both off like a flash running toward the garage. Sarah jumped in a sports car, as Casey tore open the passenger door.

“Hold the hell on,” Sarah said, determination on her face. “What the hell does he think he’s doing?”

“What he can,” Casey told her. Sarah gave him a look. “Oh for Christ’s sake, Walker, the kid is smitten with your ass, and there’s an assassin out there. Do you really think he’s gonna leave it alone and not try and save you?”

“Why would he do that?” she asked, frustration in her voice as they tore up the rampway, chasing after Chuck. “I hope he doesn’t get too far away.”

Casey gave her a look and held up a handheld tracker. “I put nanobots to track him in his coffee,” he told Sarah. “And he did it because he cares. You’re with a civilian, they don’t think like us.”

“Doesn’t he know how important he is?” Sarah asked. Casey glanced over, shook his head and didn’t say anything.

“Don’t you know how important he thinks you are?” Casey asked. She didn’t answer, she just floored it.

}o{About four miles down the road, Chuck was passed, and then cut off by the vehicle in front of him, applying the brakes, forcing him to slow down, and then eventually stop. He sat there, as Casey walked back to him. “I know, I’m stupid, I’m a moron,” Chuck said, as Casey walked up to the window Chuck had rolled down. “But she doesn’t get it,” Chuck began.

“No, she doesn’t,” Casey agreed. “Now get out, and go sit in the other car, I’m taking this one back to base.”

“And when I get back, I’ll be a prisoner,” Chuck said, grabbing his bag. Casey lifted his eyebrows, shrugged, got in the car, turned it around and took off.

“Get in!” Sarah yelled.

Chuck straightened his back, walked to the door, shut it and kept right on walking. The car creeped up beside him as he walked. “I’m not getting in, you’re gonna yell.”

“Where are we going at,” Sarah looked down at the speedometer. “Three and a half miles an hour?”

“To see my dad,” Chuck told her. “We need help, Sarah, you have someone chasing you, wanting to kill you, and I can’t sit here and do nothing.” She didn’t say anything for a few minutes.

“How far away is he, we’ll need supplies,” Sarah said softly.

Chuck stopped walking and looked at her. “It’s only fifty or so miles away.” The car had stopped.

“Okay, get in, and we’ll go see him,” Sarah told him. Chuck hesitated. “I promise.”

“Are you gonna yell?” Chuck asked. Sarah gave him a look. “Can you at least wait until we get back?” Sarah rolled her eyes, but nodded. Chuck got in the car and they took off toward Orion.
